6oz Sliding Barrel sinkers are commonly used in trolling, and live bait fishing. The advantage of a sliding sinker is that your weight can move independently of your bait, rig, jig, etc. This can also allow your bait to feel real and lifelike. When a fish strikes your bait, your sinker can simply slide up or down the line, to eliminate the feel of weight on the line as most sinkers do. Generally used for Tuna, and other big game. Unlike the basic sliding egg sinker, the barrel sinker has a much larger diameter hole through the middle allowing the use of much larger fishing line ( in some cases up to 250lb)
